Neues Haus Mountain Inn

Historic mountain inn in the saddle between the Fichtelberg and Klínovec (Keilberg) at 1,083 m, on the road from Oberwiesenthal to Jáchymov which was upgraded to a postal route in 1708. The building traces back to „Gaffels Haus“ (1528) with a new construction in 1820 — hence the name. In his lifetime Anton Günther often came across the Saxon–Bohemian border from his birthplace and home in Gottesgab/Boží Dar, only some four kilometres away, and sang his songs at the Neues Haus to the lute and guitar. Alongside the Fichtelberg-Haus and the Dreckschänke it was one of the central inns where the folk poet regularly performed. The building was fully renovated in 2022 and reopened in December 2023 as a 3★ mountain hotel with eleven rooms and a restaurant.
